Lita Rossana Ford, popularly called Lita Ford, is a British-born American singer, guitarist, and songwriter, who was lead guitarist for The all-girl rock group, The Runaways, in the latter part of 1970s.Their rock-star sound and raucous lyrics made them a hit in the rock world. The Runaways weren't popular within The United States. However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy-metal career following the split of her group in 1979. She took voice lessons, she released her first solo album 'Out for Blood', followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford's albums were not very well-received, and so she went under the radar for a couple of years. In 1988, Ford debuted her wildly successful album 'Lita.' The hit single, 'Kiss Me Deadly" and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were both big hits. However, she only did not last long and disappeared from the scene for several years. In 1995, she released her debut album "Black," and fifteen years later 'Wicked Wonderland. Her most recent album, Time Capsule was released in the year 2016. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
